Write a simple markup file and get a properly formatted Chinese Word document out the other side—that is the core promise of word-docx-writer. Lab reports, course assignments, theses, project summaries: the tedium of Chinese long-document typography (fonts, point sizes, first-line indent, line spacing, caption numbering) simply disappears.

Under the hood the tool uses the Python standard library via an OOXML path to emit .docx files with no third-party Office dependency (Pillow is needed only for image sizing). A second implementation on Windows + Word COM adds .doc conversion and table-of-contents refreshing. Headings map to Word built-in styles so the TOC field works out of the box; figure and table captions auto-number by chapter; the default body style is SimSun 12 pt with 1.5× line spacing and a two-character first-line indent—all overridable from the command line. Beyond generation, it can restyle any existing .docx in one pass (fonts, sizes, paragraph rules) or fill in a template, preserving the cover page, grading sheet, headers and footers while replacing only the body content.
