The DSH Web status bar already reports rounds, steps, throughput, and cache-hit rate, yet it leaves out the question that matters most at the wallet: how much balance is left, and what did this conversation cost. dsh-balance-status appends a single balance figure to the end of that bar. A left-click pops open a compact detail panel showing cumulative spend since the process started and since the current session began, then closes just as easily.

Under the hood it uses a balance-delta ledger: the first balance reading after process or session start becomes the baseline, and only downward changes are tallied. Top-ups raise the baseline without producing negative numbers, so a DeepSeek price change can never skew the math. Every figure lives in host-process memory and is never written to session logs. The API key never reaches the browser, which talks to a local read-only JSON route behind DSH's own authentication.
