In DeepSeek Harness, the system prompt is assembled automatically from the core framework, session presets, and every loaded plugin. Customizing that output used to mean hand-editing YAML or forking source code. dsh-system-prompt adds a dedicated editor under Settings → System Prompt that makes the process visual, safe, and reversible.

The editor offers three modes: Use Default (no override, keep the auto-assembled result), Append Instructions (add custom text after the original guidance), and Full Replace (rewrite the entire prompt body). The prompt source follows the current session by default, pulling in plugin-contributed guidance for read, write, edit, glob, grep, background tasks, search, and sub-Agents; you can also switch to another loaded session manually. One-click load-then-edit of the full default prompt, save with undo-last-save, restore-default, and draft protection on refresh or concurrent edits are all built in.

It is intended for DSH users who want to fine-tune system prompts without touching Harness install files–teams appending domain standards, adjusting tool-usage guidance, or experimenting with full prompt rewrites while keeping a working fallback. Settings persist at the user level and take effect on the next model-request assembly, with no Host restart required.
