Sharing a directory over a local network to other PCs, iPads, or phones used to mean wrestling with protocol mismatches: SMB servers cannot be easily embedded, NFS is missing on Windows Home, and the one protocol all three platforms mount natively out of the box is WebDAV. dsh-webdav-server turns any directory inside dsh into a spec-compliant WebDAV endpoint built on nephele (RFC 4918). Once mounted, it behaves exactly like a local drive: drag and drop, double-click to edit, save-as, all changes landing on the source machine in real time, fully isolated from dsh and its other plugins on its own port.

Everything is configured through a visual settings panel. An access token is generated and persisted on first start; the username can be anything, the password is the token. Security options are first-class: toggle read-only mode to reject all writes with 403, disable symlink traversal to keep shared content inside the configured root, or bind to 127.0.0.1 for local-only access. If the user-management plugin is installed you can switch to its account/password for Basic auth, with automatic fallback to token auth when user-management is absent or its database is corrupt. The settings page ships built-in mount guides for Windows (including WebClient service and registry fixes), macOS Finder, Linux davfs2, and the iOS Files app, with the actual address and credentials pre-filled so you can copy and go.

Configuration changes take effect without a restart: the plugin fingerprints its settings every three seconds and rebuilds the listener automatically when the root, port, token, or read-only flag changes. It is built for anyone running dsh who wants to quickly share a session workspace, a knowledge base, or any local folder with colleagues, family members, or another device of their own.
