Working in a read-only message list means you cannot edit a prompt, retry an unsatisfying answer, or delete a message that went off track the way you can on the DeepSeek web UI or in ChatGPT. dsh-more-message-actions fills that gap by injecting five action buttons—Edit, Edit & Retry, Retry, Advanced Retry, and Delete—into every message row, bringing the familiar chat-management workflow to DeepSeek Harness.

Every action is an in-place single-point rewrite; no conversation forks are created. Deleting an AI reply removes that turn's chain-of-thought and tool calls together while keeping the corresponding user prompt, and deleting a user message leaves its AI reply untouched. Advanced Retry lets you type an extra instruction, truncate the old answer, and regenerate with the original prompt plus your new requirement—ideal for nudging the model in a different direction without losing context. Under the hood, a Host half rewrites the persisted log and resets coordinator cursors while a Browser half injects the buttons and maps DOM keys to persistent IDs.

If you use DeepSeek Harness regularly for prompt iteration, code debugging, or long-form writing and find yourself copy-pasting and manually re-sending messages, this plugin turns that repetition into a single click. Keep in mind it operates on internal engine structures, is blocked while a turn is running, cannot safely replay turns that contain image attachments, and you should check backup files before working on important sessions.
