Writing code in DSH means cloning repos, pushing branches, opening PRs, and switching GitHub accounts almost every day, yet those actions are scattered across a terminal and a browser, and on Windows the missing system-proxy support for git can turn every push or clone into a timeout spiral. dsh-ghCLI pulls the entire GitHub workflow into the DSH settings page so you can handle it in one place, inside the GUI.

The plugin covers three layers. First, installation detection and self-healing: one-click install, manual path specification, PATH injection, and a dedicated Windows network-proxy fixer that writes the system proxy into git config and verifies connectivity, solving the classic "the browser connects fine but git cannot reach GitHub" problem. Second, multi-account authentication: token-based login (including enterprise GH hosts), account switching, logout, token refresh, and read/write access to the global git user.name and user.email. Third, high-frequency repository operations: clone (with shallow-clone and non-empty-directory protection), push, pull, create PR, open the remote page, fork, star a remote repo, and create a new repository. Under the hood it invokes the local gh and git binaries by resolved absolute path, adds zero extra npm dependencies, executes every command via explicit argv with no shell injection surface, and supports cancellation plus timeout guards for long-running tasks.

It is a fit for developers who use DSH as their daily coding environment and interact with GitHub frequently, especially on Windows where proxy and PATH issues tend to interrupt flow. Authentication tokens are written only to the local gh credential store and never leave the machine over the network.
