Opening DeepSeek Harness Web used to mean hunting down a terminal, typing a start command, waiting for the service, and then manually pointing a browser at the right URL. Whale Desktop Launcher collapses all of that into a single icon on your desktop: double-click it and it quietly spins up the DSH Web service in the background, shows a small floating progress window tracking each phase (service check, server start, readiness wait), and then opens the UI in Edge or Chrome app mode—a borderless window with no tabs, no address bar, no extra toolbars.

Once running, a whale-girl tray icon stays resident. Hover for live service status, double-click to re-focus the UI, or use the right-click menu to restart the server or quit entirely (quitting also stops the DSH server process). The launcher is single-instance by design: re-clicking the desktop icon simply brings the existing window forward. If a healthy server is already listening on the configured port, it is reused rather than started again, so you never end up with duplicate processes. High-DPI displays are handled, so the UI stays crisp at 150% or 200% scaling.

This plugin is aimed at Windows 10/11 users who work with the DSH Web profile every day and want a native, app-like experience without the terminal ritual. The only prerequisites are a DeepSeek Harness installation with the web profile and either Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. Unloading the plugin intentionally leaves your desktop icon and config files in place; remove them by hand if you want a full cleanup.
