When you run agent sessions in the DeepSeek Harness Web UI, the workspace files you care about are sitting in a local repo, yet the UI offers no built-in file browser. Checking a directory layout or peeking at a source file means either switching to an editor tab or asking the agent to read it for you—both of which break your flow. dsh-workspace-files adds a single "Files" button to the session title bar; click it and a resizable (240–900 px) workspace panel slides in on the right, all without leaving the conversation or sending another message to the agent.

The panel is built around two goals: see clearly and grab what you need. The file tree expands and collapses on click, and the search box at the top performs a recursive filename search across the entire workspace (skipping .git and node_modules by default, configurable via plugin settings). A single click on a file opens a preview on the right: Markdown is fully rendered with headings, lists, tables, highlighted code blocks, links, and images, while other text files get syntax highlighting matched to their extension. A double click pops a centered, zoomed modal—press Esc or click the overlay to dismiss it. Binary files or those exceeding the preview size limit show a notice, but download buttons remain available in both the preview header and the modal header. This matters most when you access Harness over a domain or LAN: the official fence blocks non-loopback file access, and this plugin provides a clean download path to pull the file onto your local machine.

If you use DeepSeek Harness in a local browser or reach it through a reverse proxy on a LAN or domain, and you want to glance at workspace files right next to your session without context-switching, this plugin is made for that. It does not alter agent behaviour, introduces no runtime dependencies beyond what Harness already ships, and after installation simply adds one more button to the title bar—use it or not, entirely up to you.
