You run DeepSeek Harness on your laptop, but the machine you actually need to touch lives elsewhere—a server, a dev container, a node behind Tailscale. dsh-remote-exec closes that gap: the agent's file tools and shell commands execute on the remote host while your local conversation, tool orchestration, and context management stay untouched. No SSH tunnels to juggle, no need to deploy Harness itself to the far end.

The connection layer offers two drivers. The SSH driver uses OpenSSH for file operations and reuses ssh PTY for interactive terminals, supporting key-based auth or Tailscale keyless identity. The mosh driver delegates file work to ssh but drives the interactive terminal through a native mosh client, so a Wi-Fi switch or a laptop lid-close-and-resume does not kill your session—handy for mobile work or unreliable networks.

This plugin is for developers who code locally but rely on remote GPUs or clusters; teams on a Tailscale private network who want the agent to read and write remote files without constant scp round-trips; and heavy terminal users who need long-lived sessions that survive roaming or sleep. It is built against DeepSeek Harness 0.1.1-rc.x, with remote shell and filesystem verified end-to-end over SSH.
