Managing a growing list of DSH Web sessions quickly turns the sidebar into a wall of similar titles, and the green completion dot vanishes the moment you open a conversation. dsh-pin-session is a small, reversible client-side plugin that puts the two most intuitive session actions back into the familiar three-dot menu: pin a session to the top, and mark it unread or read on demand.

The plugin offers three concrete capabilities. Pin session moves a conversation into a dedicated Pinned group at the top of the sidebar, and Unpin session returns it to the normal list. Mark unread restores the native green dot even after the session has already been opened, and it stays until you explicitly choose Mark read. Every annotation is written under a namespaced key in the browser profile's localStorage, so each machine and profile keeps its own independent state. Nothing is written to DSH session logs, the host database, or any server-side schema; uninstalling the plugin leaves every session and log untouched.

This plugin is a good fit if you juggle many long-running DSH Web conversations and need to surface the ones you are actively working on, or if you want a lightweight read/unread state without relying on any backend record. At runtime it checks the shell.overlay contract and the useSessions hook shape before mounting, and gracefully declines to load if the expected interfaces are absent rather than rendering a broken sidebar. Because state lives entirely in browser-local storage, multi-machine deployments stay simple: pin the plugin version alongside your DSH Web version so an app upgrade and a plugin upgrade can be tested together.
