Inside DeepSeek Harness, the AI assistant repeatedly rewrites project files through write and edit tools, yet a single off-target change can be difficult to undo without manual line-by-line reversions. dsh-snapshot adds a lightweight file-snapshot and undo layer to the host so that every tool invocation leaves a recoverable backup behind.

Concretely, the plugin writes a backup into the \.dsh-snapshots directory after each write or edit call, keeping up to 20 versions per file with a 2 MB per-version cap. When the limit is exceeded it overwrites rather than deletes, a design that fits minimal file-system environments lacking mkdir or unlink. Users can call snapshot_list to see version counts and latest timestamps per tracked file, snapshot_restore to roll back to any historical version (an extra backup is taken automatically before the restore as a safety net), snapshot_purge to clear all history, or export_session to dump the current conversation as Markdown or JSON for review and archiving.
