dsh-backup

Once a DSH workspace has been running for a while, it accumulates session history, profile configuration, global conventions, and often a custom memory library. A single misstep or disk failure can wipe out weeks of accumulated context. dsh-backup bundles all of this into timestamped .zip archives so you never have to sift through dotfiles and copy things by hand.

Backups can fire on a schedule (every 6 hours by default, interval fully adjustable) or be triggered with one click from the Settings page. You can register any number of extra absolute paths—your memory library, a notes folder—so everything worth keeping lands in the same archive. Rotation trims the store to the latest N files (default 10), keeping disk use predictable. Restore is deliberately a manual, two-step operation: stop DSH, then extract the archive over its original paths. The plugin never overwrites data on its own. Under the hood the zip packer is a zero-dependency, pure-Node stream implementation, so it works inside the session sandbox without needing system zip or a shell, and runs on macOS, Linux, and Windows alike.

If you rely heavily on DSH session context, maintain a custom memory library, or simply want a local safety net that does not depend on cloud sync, dsh-backup is a lightweight, dependency-free option. It requires DSH 0.1.0-rc.6 or newer and Node.js 16.7+, both of which ship with current DSH releases.
